Aromatics and styrene monomer are developing healthily on the back of sound economic growth globally in the recent 5 years. Asia-Pacific and Middle East have undoubtedly been fast-growing markets next to America and Europe. China, a major consumer of petrochemicals, is an important user of aromatic and styrene in Asia.
When energetically exploring businesses over international market, China and Middle East are also keen to promote growth of supplies locally. In the two regions, capacities are increasing due to start-ups of ethylene and refining projects while production costs are jumping up following higher crude oil prices. Middle East indicates evidently lower costs. In China, macroeconomic control, RMB appreciation and reinforcing of environmental protection measures will directly or indirectly impact the trading balance between China and other Asian countries.
