April 4 CBI News: the 6th ‘Far-east Iron & Steel Forum or 2008 China Iron Ore Forum’ sponsored by METAL BULLETIN and China Minmetals Corporation was opened successfully in Beijing. David Du, iron & steel analyst of Metalease Department, CBI (Shanghai) Co., Ltd presented a speech named ‘2008-A Balancing Market’. Mr. Du expressed a brief introduction of CBI first and then shared his views of 2008 Chinese iron and steel development trend with the forum participants, with contents including: 1. Domestic oversupply is disappearing and export availability is decreasing on rapidly rising demand; 2. the industry saw profit polarization throughout 2007, resulting two incentives for M & A and reshuffles in 2008. His speech was highly applauded and many participants raised questions to him, indicating their concerns over Chinese iron and steel industrial development.
METAL BULLETIN and China Minmetals Corporation sponsor such a large iron and steel industrial meeting annually. The 6th forum attracted more than 700 participants, breaking a record.
