March 31 CBI News: 2008 Petrochemical Summit (PCS) sponsored by CBI closed successfully in Beijing International Hotel on March 28, with +150 participants from over 10 countries.
The summit has a theme: ‘Opportunity in China, Win Together Globally’. CBI, together with participants, shares views of Chinese petrochemical industrial development in aspects of economic trend, industrial status quo, opportunities and challenges. Meanwhile, corporate management and development strategy setting combing with petrochemical industrial characteristics are major subjects for most enterprise managers.
Three special sub-forums were simultaneously started on the afternoon of March 27: International Trade Sub-forum, Supply Chain Management Sub-forum and Responsibility & Care Sub-forum. In International Trade Sub-forum, trends of American/European cosmetics regulations became a widely-concerned issue. Regulations such as EU’s REACH and VOC and new regulations such as USA’s HPV were most attractive. Supply Chain Sub-forum focused on cooperation between logistic suppliers and Chinese petrochemical producers and transportation trend of petrochemical products. Responsibility & Care Sub-forum saw hot discussions about security guarantee, energy-saving & emission reduction and sustainable development.
The forum was closed successfully at the noon of March 28. Many participants wrote down interests of 2009 forum on the feedstock sheet. Mr. Ye Dengfeng, Director of Event Organization Department, CBI said, CBI is bound to hold the summit annually. The success of the summit is a good start and a long way is waiting for us.
